Much like an echocardiogram, Doppler ultrasound, also known as Doppler echocardiography, is a diagnostic procedure that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to examine the heart and blood vessels. During the test, these sound waves are directed towards the heart and blood vessels, and the echoes produced upon their reflection are captured and translated into images. These images provide valuable insights into the flow of blood through the arteries or within the heart chambers.
